§ 56848 Reorganization Committee Approval Rules

• •A group of people from different areas (called a reorganization committee) has to vote on a big plan.
• •For the plan to pass, more than half of the areas (not just the people) must vote 'yes'.
• •If 6 areas are in the group, at least 4 must vote 'yes' for the plan to be approved.

Imagine 10 small towns want to join together to share schools and save money. They form a group with one person from each town to vote on the plan.

For the plan to pass, more than half of the towns (that means 6 or more) must vote 'yes'. If only 5 towns vote 'yes', the plan fails, even if those 5 towns have more people.
