§ 56426 Farmland Security Zone Protections

Key Takeaways

  • •Farmland under a special contract (farmland security zone) gets extra protection.
  • •The government can't approve changes (like adding sewers or roads) to this farmland unless the changes help farming or the landowner agrees.
  • •Changes are only allowed if they match what the farmland contract allows.

Example

A city wants to build new roads and sewers near a farm that has a farmland security zone contract.

The city can't do it unless the farm owner says yes or the roads/sewers help farming (like for farm trucks). If the farm owner doesn’t agree, the city’s plan gets rejected.
