§ 54036 Local Property Acquisition Methods

Key Takeaways

  • •Local agencies (like cities or schools) can use the same rules to buy or fix up land for different things, like roads, libraries, or parks.
  • •If there’s a way to buy or improve land for one thing (like a road), they can use that same way for other things too.
  • •This makes it easier for them to get land for projects without making new rules every time.

Example

A city wants to buy land to build a new park.

They can use the same steps they used to buy land for a school before. No need to make new rules just for the park.
