§ 51072 Open-Space Land Preservation

Key Takeaways

  • •Open spaces like parks and empty lands are good for cities and towns.
  • •These lands help people enjoy nature, play outside, and make places look nice.
  • •Keeping these lands open can also help the economy and bring people together.
  • •The law says it's important to protect these lands when building new things in cities.

Example

A city wants to build a new shopping mall but there's a big empty field nearby where kids play soccer and families have picnics.

The law says the city should think about keeping that field as open space because it's good for the community. It helps people stay happy and healthy, and makes the city a nicer place to live.
