§ 50746 Bond Revenue Lien Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •If the government builds something (like a park or road) using money from bonds, they can say that the money made from that thing (like park fees or tolls) will be used to pay back the bonds.
  • •This means the money from the project is promised to pay back the loan before it can be used for anything else.
  • •It’s like when you borrow money to buy a lemonade stand, and you promise to use the lemonade money to pay back the loan first.

Example

The city builds a new toll bridge using money from bonds.

The toll money from drivers using the bridge must first go to paying back the bonds before the city can use it for other things.
