§ 50141 Builder Reimbursement Charges

Key Takeaways

  • •If a city or town helps pay for a builder to install pipes or other things that can be used by more people than just the builder, they can charge others for using it.
  • •The charge has to be fair and reasonable.
  • •This is only for things that help more people, not just the builder's own property.

Example

A builder puts in a new sewer line with help from the city, and this line can also be used by nearby houses.

The city can charge those nearby houses a fair fee for using the new sewer line because the city helped pay for it.
