Example

Voting in a local election

When you go to vote, you'll see questions like 'Should we elect a mayor and four city council members?' and 'Should the mayor's term be two years or four years?' You can vote 'Yes' or 'No' for the first question and choose either 'two years' or 'four years' for the second question. If most people vote for a four-year term, then the mayor will serve for four years.
