§ 30102 State Controller Settlement Deferral

A county didn't collect enough taxes this year, so they don't have enough money to pay the state what they owe.

The State Controller can say, 'Wait until next time to pay.' The county must then add all the missing money in their next report. Also, no extra pay (like mileage or fees) will be given to any officer because of this delay.
