§ 29840 County Warrant Registration Alternative

Key Takeaways

  • •Counties can choose a different way to register their warrants (like IOUs) instead of the usual method.
  • •This rule doesn’t apply to school warrants, only other types.
  • •The county leaders (board of supervisors) must vote and agree to use this different method.

Example

A county wants to change how they keep track of money they owe for road repairs.

Instead of using the normal way to record these debts, the county leaders can vote to use a different method if they think it’s better.
