§ 29701 Claim Submission Deadlines

Key Takeaways

  • •You must submit your claim at least 3 days before the board meeting. Some places may require 5 days.
  • •The board can decide not to look at your claim if you submit it too late.
  • •Some places have rules that let certain claims skip this waiting time.

Example

You want the city to fix a pothole that damaged your car.

If the board meets on Friday, you must submit your claim by Tuesday (or Sunday if the rule is 5 days). If you submit it on Thursday, they might not even look at it.
