§ 29351 County Salary Tax Deficiency

Key Takeaways

  • •If the money collected from fees isn't enough to pay workers' salaries, the local government has to step in.
  • •The government will calculate how much extra money is needed and add it to the taxes people pay.
  • •The extra tax money goes straight into a special fund just for paying salaries.

Example

Imagine a small town where the money from parking tickets and permits isn't enough to pay the police officers.

The town leaders will figure out how much more money is needed and add a little extra to everyone's property taxes. That extra tax money will then be used to pay the police officers' salaries.
