§ 29000 County Budget Requirements

• •This law is called the County Budget Act.
• •It sets the rules for how counties must handle their money and budgets.
• •The Controller can add more rules about county budgets under Section 30200.
• •If something isn’t clear, the general rules in this law apply.

A county wants to spend money on new schools.

The county must follow the rules in this law to plan and approve the budget for the schools. If they don’t, they could get in trouble.
