§ 27249 Attachment Record Index

Key Takeaways

  • •The recorder must keep a list of attachments called 'Attachments'.
  • •This list has five parts: who the attachment is against, who asked for it, the notice about it, when it was recorded, and where it was recorded.
  • •This rule helps keep track of legal attachments in an organized way.

Example

Imagine you owe someone money, and they take legal action to secure some of your property until you pay up.

The recorder's office will write down your name, the name of the person you owe, the notice about the attachment, and when and where this was officially recorded in their 'Attachments' list.
