§ 26425 Bond Revenue Collection Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If a project is built using money from bonds, the people in charge can set fees or charges for using that project.
  • •The money from these fees must be enough to pay back the bonds, cover the cost of running and fixing the project, and save extra money for future needs.
  • •This rule helps make sure the project can pay for itself and doesn’t run out of money.

Example

A city builds a new toll bridge using money from bonds.

The city can charge tolls to drivers using the bridge. The toll money must be enough to pay back the bonds, cover bridge repairs and upkeep, and save extra money for big fixes later.
