§ 23110 Fresno County Boundary Lines

Key Takeaways

  • •This law describes the exact borders of Fresno County, California.
  • •It uses rivers, roads, and survey lines to mark where Fresno County starts and ends.
  • •The borders connect to neighboring counties like Merced, San Benito, and Kings.
  • •The description starts and ends at the same point on the San Joaquin River.

Example

Imagine you're driving from Merced to Fresno. When you cross the San Joaquin River at a specific spot, you officially enter Fresno County.

The law says Fresno County starts where the south line of Merced County meets the San Joaquin River. So, if you're coming from Merced, crossing that river at that exact spot means you're now in Fresno County.
