§ 22001 State Federal Agreement Liabilities

Key Takeaways

  • •Old rules from 1950 and 1955 about agreements between the state and the federal government are still in effect.
  • •Even though some laws were canceled, the promises and duties from those old laws stay the same.
  • •This means the state still has to follow the deals it made with the federal government back then.

Example

Imagine the state promised the federal government in 1950 that it would keep certain roads in good shape in exchange for money.

Even if the law that made this promise was later canceled, the state still has to keep those roads in good shape because the promise is still valid.
