§ 20573 Termination Liability Negotiations

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can talk and make deals with other agencies about when and how to close an agency.
  • •They can also decide how to pay any money that is still owed after the agency closes.
  • •This rule also applies to agencies that are not active anymore or to groups of members who are no longer active.

Example

A small town's fire department is closing down because the town can't afford to keep it running.
