§ 19609 Demonstration Project Reporting Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If a test project becomes a permanent rule after January 1, 2008, the boss in charge must send a report to the State Personnel Board.
  • •The report must include things like how many people applied, how many got hired, how much it cost to hire them, any complaints about the tests, and how long it all took.
  • •For the first three years after the project becomes permanent, the boss must send this report every year. After that, they only send it if the State Personnel Board asks for it.
  • •The State Personnel Board can hold a public meeting to talk about the report and let people give their opinions.

Example

A city starts a new way to hire firefighters. After a few years, they decide to make this new way permanent.

The fire chief has to send a report every year for the first three years. The report says things like how many people tried to become firefighters, how many got the job, and if anyone complained about the tests. After three years, the chief only sends the report if the State Personnel Board asks for it. The Board might also hold a meeting where people can talk about how the new hiring way is working.
