§ 17223 Warrant Registration And Advertising

Key Takeaways

  • •The Controller must give the Treasurer a special list for registered warrants.
  • •The Treasurer must write down the date when each warrant is registered.
  • •The Treasurer must also write down the date when the warrant is first announced as payable.

Example

Imagine you have a special list for IOUs that the state owes people.

The person in charge of money (Controller) gives this list to the person who handles the state's money (Treasurer). The Treasurer then writes down when each IOU is officially added to the list and when it's first said to be ready for payment.
