§ 15164 Law Enforcement Telecommunications System

Key Takeaways

  • •The system must always have good enough equipment for police and law enforcement to do their jobs.
  • •A group of people will suggest upgrades to the system to the Attorney General so it stays useful and modern.
  • •The system should work with both current and future computer and data equipment.

Example

Imagine the police need to use a computer system to find information about a stolen car.

The law says the system must have good enough computers and tools so the police can do this easily. If the computers are too slow or old, the group in charge will tell the Attorney General to upgrade them.
