§ 15002 Civil Service Rights Protection

• •If you worked for the government in California before May 1, 1944, and then got moved to the Department of Justice, your job rights stay the same.
• •Your job protection and rules from before still count, even after the move.
• •If a new office or group joins the Department of Justice, it doesn’t automatically mean their workers have to follow the same job rules as everyone else.

Imagine you worked for the state of California in 1940, and then in 1945, your job got moved to the Department of Justice.

Your job rights, like how you get promoted or how you can’t be fired without a good reason, stay exactly the same as they were before the move. Nothing changes just because your job is now in the Department of Justice.
