§ 14973 Emergency Fund Allocation Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The Director of Finance checks if there's a big emergency in the state.
  • •They also check if there's money available to fix the problem.
  • •If both are true, they give the money needed to the Department of General Services to handle the emergency.

Example

A huge wildfire is burning across the state, and towns need help fast.

The Director of Finance sees the wildfire is a big emergency and checks if there's money set aside for emergencies. If there is, they give that money to the Department of General Services so they can buy supplies, send help, and fix the damage.
