§ 14963 Fire Marshal Duties Transfer

• •The State Fire Marshal no longer handles building and school safety checks.
• •Now, the Office of the State Architect is in charge of checking building plans and doing construction inspections.
• •This change was made in 1991.

If a new school is being built, someone needs to make sure the building plans are safe.

Before, the State Fire Marshal would check these plans, but now the Office of the State Architect does this job instead.
