§ 14007 Department Organizational Structure

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss of the department can split the work into different teams, but they need the Governor and secretary to say it's okay.
  • •There must be at least five main teams: Highways, Aeronautics, Mass Transportation, Procurement and Services, and Legal.
  • •The boss can create, change, or get rid of other teams if the Governor and secretary agree.
  • •Any old rules that mention the 'Division of Bay Toll Crossings' now mean the whole department instead.

Example

Imagine the department is like a big school project.

The teacher (director) can split the project into groups like roads, airplanes, buses, buying stuff, and legal help. But the teacher needs the principal (Governor) and vice-principal (secretary) to agree. If the project changes, the teacher can make new groups or get rid of old ones. Also, if any old rules talk about the 'Bay Toll Crossings' group, they now mean the whole project.
