§ 13407 Internal Control Monitoring Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The government must check its own spending rules often to avoid wasting money.
  • •They have to use the money and tools they already have to do these checks.
  • •This helps save money by stopping waste.

Example

A school buys too many textbooks that just sit in a closet.

The school should have checked how many books they really needed before buying. If they did, they wouldn’t waste money on extra books.
