§ 12948 Denial Of Civil Rights

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't stop someone from doing things they have a right to do, like going to a store or getting a job, just because of who they are.
  • •You also can't help someone else stop them, or plan with others to stop them.
  • •This includes things like their race, gender, religion, or if they have a disability.

Example

A restaurant owner refuses to serve someone because they use a wheelchair.

This is against the law. The restaurant owner can't do this, and no one can help them or plan with them to do it.
