§ 12427 State Agency Bond Accounting Reimbursement

Key Takeaways

  • •If a state agency uses special money (revenue bonds), they have to pay back the Controller for extra work done to track that money.
  • •The Controller will send a bill for this work, and the agency must pay it unless they argue it’s wrong.
  • •This rule lasts until the special money (bonds) is all paid off.

Example

A state agency builds a new park using special money (revenue bonds).

The Controller does extra work to keep track of how the park money is spent. The agency has to pay the Controller back for this work. If the Controller sends a bill, the agency must pay it unless they think it’s wrong.
