§ 11259 State Agency Revenue Deposits

Key Takeaways

  • •If a state agency (not the University of California) gets paid for work, services, or stuff they provide, that money must go into the State Treasury.
  • •The money is then given to the same fund or budget that paid for the work or stuff in the first place.
  • •The University of California is different—they can add the money they get to their own funds and use it however they normally would.

Example

A state park charges people to camp there.

The money from camping fees must go into the State Treasury and then be given back to the park's budget to help pay for things like maintaining the park.
