§ 8152 Commissioner Examination Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss (commissioner) can check up on banks and their offices anytime, even without warning.
  • •They can look at any part of the bank, even if it's in another state.
  • •This rule also applies to companies that own banks or are owned by banks.

Example

Imagine you have a piggy bank, and your mom can check how much money is in it whenever she wants, even if you hide it under your bed.

The law lets the commissioner do the same thing with real banks—they can look at all their money and records anytime to make sure everything is okay.
