§ 5605 Association Business Commencement Deadline

Key Takeaways

  • •If a group doesn't start its business within one year of getting approval, it loses its approval unless it gets extra time.
  • •If the group loses approval, any money people put in must be given back fairly to those who paid.
  • •The boss in charge must tell the state government if a group loses its approval.

Example

A group of neighbors wants to start a community garden and gets approval to form a group. But they don't start the garden within a year.

If they don't start the garden in time, they lose their approval. Any money they collected from neighbors for the garden must be given back. The boss in charge must tell the state government about this.
