§ 4923 Shareholder Information Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If a bank or savings company wants to change its rules, it must tell its shareholders about it first.
  • •The boss (commissioner) decides what info the company must share with shareholders.
  • •The info shared must follow rules similar to those used for big stock market companies.

Example

Your local bank wants to change how it picks its leaders.

The bank must send clear info to everyone who owns part of the bank, explaining the change. The bank can't hide important details.
