§ 31900 Civil Penalty Authority

If, after notice and a hearing, the commissioner finds that any person has violated any provision of this division or of any regulation or order issued under this division, the commissioner may order such person to pay to the commissioner a civil penalty in such amount as the commissioner may specify; provided, however, that the amount of such civil penalty shall not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each violation, or in the case of a continuing violation, one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each day for which such violation continues. (Amended by Stats. 1996, Ch. 1064, Sec. 698. Effective January 1, 1997. Operative July 1, 1997.)
