§ 22010 Employee Exemption For Lenders

Key Takeaways

  • •If you work for a money lender, broker, or program administrator, you don’t need your own license if you’re just doing your job at their licensed place.
  • •If your boss is exempt from certain rules, you are too—while you’re working for them.
  • •This rule started on January 1, 2019.

Example

You work at a payday loan store as a cashier.

You don’t need a separate license to do your job because you’re working at a licensed place. If your boss doesn’t have to follow certain rules, you don’t either while you’re working there.
