§ 18687 Foreign Industrial Loan Restrictions

Key Takeaways

  • •A company from another state with a branch in California can't do business there that it's not allowed to do in its home state.
  • •The company also can't do business in California that California companies are not allowed to do.
  • •If California's rules for these companies conflict with other rules, California's rules for these companies win.

Example

A loan company from Texas opens a branch in California. In Texas, they can give out really big loans, but in California, there's a limit on how big a loan can be.

The Texas company can't give out really big loans in California because California companies aren't allowed to do that. They have to follow California's rules.
