§ 100018 Licensee Information Updates

This law says anyone with a debt‑collection license must tell the commissioner in writing when their license info changes, when they move to a new address, and when they open or move a branch office.

Key Takeaways

  • •Notify the commissioner in writing within 30 days if any information on the license application becomes wrong or missing.
  • •Give at least 10 days’ written notice before changing the main business address.
  • •Only use a business name that the commissioner has approved at the new location.
  • •If a new branch opens or an existing branch moves, tell the commissioner in writing within 30 days after it starts operating.

Example

A debt‑collection company moves its main office from 123 Main St to 456 Oak St and opens a new branch on 789 Pine St.

The company must send a written notice to the commissioner at least 10 days before moving the main office, keep using the approved business name at the new address, and then send another written notice within 30 days after the new office (or branch) starts working.
