§ 8100 Fishery Participation Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •Only a certain number of people or boats can fish for specific types of fish.
  • •The government decides how many people or boats are allowed.
  • •This rule helps control how many fish are caught so they don’t run out.

Example

Imagine you want to go fishing for salmon in a lake.

The government might say only 50 boats can fish for salmon there. If you’re not one of the 50, you can’t fish for salmon in that lake. This keeps too many salmon from being caught at once.
