§ 2624 Habitat Protection Fund Use

This law says money can only be set aside for land that is a natural habitat and is being destroyed, heavily changed, or losing its value.

Key Takeaways

  • •Funds can only be used for land that is a habitat.
  • •The habitat must be facing destruction, big changes, or a big loss of value.
  • •Money can't be spent on land that isn't threatened.

Example

A wetland is being drained to build a shopping center.

The state can use the special funds to buy or protect that wetland because the habitat is being destroyed, but it can't use the money for a park that isn't under threat.
