§ 1007 Wildlife Import And Distribution

• •The department is allowed to bring in (import) birds, mammals, or fish.
• •It can breed or grow (propagate) those animals.
• •It can give them away or sell them (distribute) to others.

The state wildlife department imports a new type of fish, raises them in a hatchery, and then gives the fish to local schools for educational ponds.

Because the law says the department can import, propagate, and distribute those animals, it can legally do all three steps with the fish.
