§ 7894 Termination Of Parental Rights

Key Takeaways

  • •Once a court decides a child no longer has to live with or be controlled by their parent(s), that decision is final and cannot be changed by the court later.
  • •The decision affects the child, the parent(s), and anyone else who was officially told about the court case.
  • •Even though the court can't change its decision, the parent(s) can still ask a higher court to review the case (appeal).

Example

A court decides a child should no longer live with their mom and dad because they are not safe. The court says the child is now free from their parents' control.

This decision is final, and the court cannot change it later. The mom and dad can still ask a higher court to look at the case again, but the first court's decision stays as is.
