§ 4507 Child Support Payment Orders

This law says that if a court tells someone to pay child or family support, they might have to pay it in a special way, like through wage garnishment.

Key Takeaways

  • •If a court orders you to pay child or family support, they can decide how you pay it.
  • •The payment might be taken straight from your paycheck.
  • •This is to make sure the support money is paid on time.

Example

A parent is ordered by the court to pay child support.

The court can make them pay by taking money directly from their paycheck instead of them paying it themselves.
