§ 232 Enforcement Of Protective Orders

This law says that a court order is valid everywhere in the state, and any police officer who has seen a copy of it must enforce it.

Key Takeaways

  • •A court order works everywhere in the state, not just where it was issued.
  • •Police must enforce the order if they have a copy of it.
  • •You can show the order to police anywhere to make them act.

Example

If a judge tells someone to stay away from another person, and that person breaks the rule in a different town.

The police in that town can arrest them if they have a copy of the judge's order.
