§ 866 Agricultural Commodity Transport Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •There are basic rules for moving and labeling farm products like fruits and vegetables.
  • •Counties can add their own extra rules on top of these basic ones.
  • •The rules are there to make sure farm products are handled safely and clearly.

Example

A farmer is driving a truck full of oranges to sell at a market in another town.

The farmer must follow the basic state rules, like labeling the oranges correctly. But if the county he’s driving through has extra rules, like needing a special permit, he has to follow those too.
