§ 79805 Commission Actions Antitrust Exemption

Key Takeaways

  • •The commission and its people can do their jobs without breaking anti-monopoly laws.
  • •Even if their actions look like they’re controlling business too much, it’s still legal.
  • •This rule protects them from lawsuits about unfair business practices.

Example

A group of farmers follows the commission’s rules to sell their crops together at a set price.

Even if this looks like they’re teaming up to control prices (which is usually illegal), they won’t get in trouble because the commission’s rules protect them.
