§ 78204 Antitrust Immunity For Commission

Key Takeaways

  • •This law says that if the commission or someone follows the rules in this chapter, they can't be accused of breaking other laws about fair business or monopolies.
  • •It protects people who follow these rules from being sued for things like unfair competition or restraint of trade.
  • •This law is about making sure that following the rules in this chapter doesn't get you in trouble with other business laws.

Example

Imagine you own a small bakery and you follow all the health and safety rules for making and selling bread. Someone might try to say you're being unfair to other bakeries because you're doing so well.

This law says that as long as you're following the rules, you can't be accused of breaking other laws about fair business. So, you're safe from those kinds of lawsuits.
