§ 75616 Implementation Referendum Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If most people don't vote 'yes' on a rule, the rule won't work.
  • •The person in charge can ask people to vote again after a year or more.
  • •The rule stays off until enough people vote 'yes'.

Example

Imagine your school wants to make a new rule that everyone must wear hats on Fridays.

If most kids and teachers vote 'no' to the hat rule, the rule won't happen. The principal can ask everyone to vote again next year. Until then, no hats on Fridays.
