§ 74736 Commission Vacancy Filling Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If a main member of the commission leaves or can't do the job anymore, the other members pick a new person to finish the term.
  • •If a backup member leaves or can't do the job anymore, they pick a new backup member using the rules from Section 74735.
  • •The new person must be qualified to do the job.

Example

Imagine a school's parent-teacher group where one of the main members moves away.

The rest of the group would vote to pick a new parent to take over the remaining time of the term. They can't just pick anyone; it has to be someone who is allowed to be in the group, like another parent or teacher.
