• •If one part of this law is found to be unfair or wrong, the rest of the law still works.
• •The law is meant to be understood in a broad and flexible way.
• •If a small piece of the law is broken or doesn't make sense, you can just remove that piece and keep the rest.

Imagine a rulebook for a game where one rule says you can't wear red shoes, but a judge says that rule is silly and unfair.

Even if the 'no red shoes' rule is thrown out, all the other rules in the book still count. The game can still be played without that one rule.
