§ 62121 Government Milk Bid Certification

Key Takeaways

  • •If you want to sell milk to the U.S. government, you must send a copy of your bid and a special promise to the California director.
  • •The promise says you will follow California’s rules about how much to pay farmers for their milk.
  • •Your bid and promise are secret and won’t be shared unless there’s a court case or a hearing.

Example

A dairy company wants to sell milk to a school lunch program run by the U.S. government.

The company must send a copy of their bid and a signed promise to California’s director, saying they will pay farmers the right price for milk. If they don’t, they could get in trouble.
