§ 62072 Handler Service Charge Factors

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss (director) sets the lowest price handlers can charge for their services.
  • •The boss looks at how much it really costs to do the job, like checking their bills and records.
  • •The boss makes sure the price helps keep milk selling smoothly and fairly.
  • •The price is set so that good workers can keep doing their job without problems.

Example

Imagine you run a small dairy farm that delivers milk to stores.

The boss checks how much it costs you to deliver milk, like gas for your truck and paying your workers. Then, the boss sets a lowest price you can charge stores so you don’t lose money and can keep delivering milk fairly. This helps make sure all milk sellers play by the same rules and milk keeps getting to stores without issues.

(b) The relationship of the establishment of such minimum charges to the achievement and maintenance of the orderly marketing of market milk and to the effectuation of the purposes of this chapter.
