§ 59693 Marketing Program Approval Process

Key Takeaways

  • •After a hearing, rules must be followed to decide if a new plan for selling crops is needed.
  • •If the plan is approved, farmers in the area get to vote on it in writing.
  • •The plan only moves forward if the farmers agree to it.

Example

A group of orange farmers want to sell their oranges together to get better prices.

The government holds a meeting to decide if this is a good idea. If they say yes, the farmers in that area get to vote. If most farmers agree, the plan starts, and they all follow the new rules for selling oranges.
